I recorded this episode when everyone was hoarding gas.  After I pulled up to the gas pump and witnessed car after car filling up their tank and multiple jugs, I had to roll my eyes, but last year, I was guilty.  We need to store up food, water, (not toilet paper in our house), and be prepared, but after my current devotion, I've changed my tune.

It's the study of the Israelites as they wander through the desert.  Miracle after miracle, God continuously shows up.  Some moments are HUGE like the parting of the Red Sea and then there are the smaller miracles, ya know like just dropping manna from the sky, leading them by fire, and the list goes on and on, but they still choose to worry "What if God doesn't provide..."

Listen, we can kick back and wonder why the Israelites would ever struggle with their faith after witnessing miracle after miracle, but then again looking at all His provided for you and me.

The epiphany moment came when reading Exodus 16-

Verse 17 "So the people of Israel did as they were told. Some gathered a lot, some only a little.

Verse 18 But when they measured it out,[d] everyone had just enough. Those who gathered a lot had nothing left over, and those who gathered only a little had enough. Each family had just what it needed."

Look at that!  They had EXACTLY what they needed.  Unfortunately, this provision wasn't enough.  They decided to store up, even though God specifically said not too.

When we try to control the situations, the circumstances, and "store up" more than we need, we aren't trusting God to show up and work miracles.

Look back on all the times God has shown up in your life; trust that He will provide gas, toilet paper, Lysol, or whatever it may be, and then let Him do his thing!  Letting go of the things you cannot control and giving it to God is where you'll find contentment and shed the anxiousness.
